Welcome to But Why Tho? the podcast, where we talk about the parts of popular culture that people say matter and ask the question but why tho?

Kate, Adrian, and Matt answer this question with through passion, geekdom, history and even some scholarship.

Mar 26, 2017

On this BS Corner, Kate and Tom talk about their time at SXSW 2017 in Austin, TX. They talk about the Gaming Expo, how it has changed from it's free years to now. They give brief reviews of their favorite games and they both agree that the arcade (from Arcades4Home) was the best part of the expo. They also talk about the Fighter Underground and the expansion of Fighting Game Tourneys.

Tom talks about the platformer Sundered, from Thunder Lotus Games. He also talks about Obduction, a VR game from the makers of MYST. Kate talks about Come Back Home, a game made by students from Bowling Green State University, that caught her eye from across the con-floor. She also talks about a game that was at the 2017 Trade Show, MilitAnt, a side-scrolling shooter from Xibalba Studios, out of Monterrey, Mexico.

Kate also got to talk with two of the writers from Mass Effect: Andromeda, Drew Karpyshyn and Samantha Wallschlaeger.
