Mar 8, 2017

On this week's episode we talk about a century-old genre of film that is in a revival: horror.

From slashers, the paranormal, zombies, vampires, and exorcisms, horror is genre with many ways to tell a story. But at the end of the day, these films tap into our fears to show us parts of ourselves and society (or you know make a quick b-movie, that happens too).

Adrian, a non-horror fan, talks about a sub-genre he can get behind, zombies. Tom brings talks about the bridge between suspense and horror, and his love of The Thing (1982). Kate leads us through a history of horror and talks about The Blair Witch Project's impact on horror - and a little of her serial killer research hobby). And we welcome a super special guest from the Don't Split Up! Horror podcast, JR Forasteros! JR brings through the detailed meanings behind slasher movies and the final girl, with his explanation of Black Christmas (1974).
